_About
Street Speak is a mobile, storytelling platform that allows people to tell and hear brief stories in response to an interchangeable prompt. Download the festival wrap-up report here. Street Speak encourages passersby to become engaged with others in the built environment they share, and connects them to others in their community. The interactive design allows individuals to activate the spaces where they live by contributing their own experiences to expand the reach of the platform. Street Speak can be used by people of all ages and abilities to record responses and offer opinions, tapping into the diverse needs of each community. Restart [your city] hopes to use Street Speak as a tool to inform how we build our cities with the input of the people who live there.
_How It Works
1. Stop in and record your 90 second video in response to a prompt
2. Listen to the story of a previous visitor/stranger
3. Sign up via email to gain access to each day or event's time capsule
4. Invite your neighbors to join in on the fun!
_The Festival
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA), in partnership with the San Francisco Planning Department, selected 30 prototypes to be on display as part of the 2016 Market Street Prototyping Festival.
