_Description
The ‘Urban Specimens’ Exhibit was on display at The Port Bar in March of 2018. The pieces or specimens are part of a larger exploration into the complex urban fabric of West Oakland. Each specimen represents a part of the built environment that we experience everyday. Some items have been found abandoned on street corners, others weathered by time. The collection celebrates the beautiful dichotomy between the intentional and unintentional curation of public space by residents. I hope to expand the collection over time as more spaces, objects and buildings are cataloged.
